THUMBNAILS

Thumbnails are used in any page in which there are multiple images. The thumbnail is a small and lower resolution image that is used as a link to the same image usually in a larger size and higher resolution.Photoshop is an ideal program to use to create thumbnails. To learn how to modify pictures go to this lesson.Here is an example of a thumbnail. I started with this picture of the most adorable dog in the world.

The picture is 11k in size, 302 X 253 pixels, and has a 6 second load time @ 28.8.

 

 

 

 

 

Photoshop was used to crop the picture and reduce the image size. The picture is now 3k in size, 100 X 102 pixels, and has a 1 second load time @ 28.8.

 

 

Once the thumbnail has been created you can link the two pictures together. The code for the picture below is:
