Color - creating custom colors.
- Open mixer, swatch and fill panels.
- Using the mixer panel, click the color bar and drag the cursor across the bar. where every stop use the selected color.
- Another way to choose colors is to click and hold on the Fill or Stroke an icon and drag it out to the color that you wish to match. Releasing the cursor at that point will automatically select the color than you chosen.
- Once the color is created you can save it by clicking on the arrow in the upper right hand corner of the Color Selection panel and clicking on "Add Swatch". This adds the color to the bottom of the swatch panel.
Custom Gradient
Using the same three panels, arrange them so that they are undocked from each other. You need to be able to see them all.
Click the first gradient in the swatch panel. The fill panel should change to reflect the selected gradient.
click the right facing arrow in the field panel and select "duplicate swatch".
In the fill panel you'll see two pointers one on each end of the gradient definition bar. Click the one on the left and the pointer changes to black. This indicates that its color can be changed. Clicking on the other arrow will select it for color change. The arrows can be slid along the bar to change the degree of gradient.
Once the gradient and colors have been selected, click on the right facing arrow in the upper right corner of the middle panel and select "add gradient".
Additional gradient arrows can be selected by clicking directly beneath the gradient bar in the fill panel.
Modify Attributes of Gradients
Draw an image with a gradient fill.
Select the bucket tool.
Select the transform fill icon on the bottom of the toolbar.
Experiment with the handles that are available.
