Movie Clips Actions
Placing actions on Movie Clips!
Here's a simple example.
- Create a movie clip with many frames and easy to see if it is working.
- Place the movie clip on the stage.
- Test the movie.
- Select the instance and open the Actions panel.
- Insert Stop by double-clicking on it.Your stop command should be inside a "clip event". This is okay...
- If you test it now it will load and stop. This is what you have told it to do. Let's make it do something more interesting.
- Double-click on Play. You should have two events in the code box, the stop event and the play event.
- Click on the word "load". A menu should pop up that allows you to select the event that causes the movie to play. Let's use "Mouse down".
- Add one more event. Double click "Stop". Click on the event and change it to "mouse up".
- Test your movie. It should be still when it loads and activate only when you hold down on the mouse button.
Fun extras:
Put a sound in your clip that plays when the clip moves but stops when you click the clip.
