Sometimes you want to put text in your html code that are notes to yourself. Maybe you want to remind yourself of some unfinished task. Or maybe you want to remind yourself why you did something in a particular way.
A comment will not appear on the page when viewed with a browser.
It is a great way to divide up a long and complicated page to make it easier to find your way around.
The syntax is simple. It begins with the less than symbol < followed by an exclamation point !, then the text is entered. End it with the usual greater than sign >.
click on view, then page source to view my page and look for my comment.
Assignment
Open up your file called "index.htm".
Add comments to the file that describe what each of the tags does.
Save the file.
View it using the browser to make sure it works.
